Turning 4 is a big deal.
I think it's because it's the first birthday that Kyson has really gotten into. Last year he kind of got it, but this year he was in full force.
"I get to go first, I'm the birthday boy...."
"Let's go on a bike ride because it's my birthday..."
We may have all been a little glad when he went back to not being the birthday boy!
But we had a fun day that started at 6:00 am with Kyson next to our beds wondering if he could open some presents.
Next Dad made him a breakfast of waffles and eggs at his request.
Then we worked in the yard a little and I went to a Stake Relief Society Women's Conference.
Then, we headed to the park to have a friends superhero birthday party.
Then we went to Arctic Circle, per Kyson's request, for dinner.
And then the Wyatt's came over for cake and ice cream.
I blew up 20 balloons the night before (while Clark studied) and then we put them in his room.
Hazel, Kyson, Carlee Noble, Presley Giles, Gage Giles, Brynlee Noble, Ava
p.s. I worked forever trying to get this little flag thing to sit straight...it didn't work. But Kyson didn't care:)
We love Kyson to death and are so so so so glad that we became parents four years ago to such a sweet boy.
Here are a couple things I want to remember about Kyson right now:
He really wants to be a good boy. He asks me all the time if he's being a good example. And if I tell him thank you for doing something he will reply, "I just wanted to make Heavenly Father and Jesus Happy."
He talks A LOT. ALL DAY LONG. Very loudly. Usually about halfway through the days I implement a quiet minute when we all just think quietly for a little bit. He keeps me company, and has the most amazing ideas. He tells great stories. He wants to know the "why" of everything.
He has an amazing memory. He has most of his books memorized word for word. He has most of our movies memorized almost word for word. We started working on memorizing the articles of faith, and he is on #4 right now.
When I ask him to do something he often replies, "Yes Mommy, okay Mommy, I will obey the rules!" ( I think Clark taught this to him...but I like it...so I encourage it!)
He loves going on bike rides and loves to ride bikes over to the Dimond park and swing.
He still takes naps about half of the time, especially if I tell him we can go on a bike ride after.
