2nd of July

I have been really bad about taking pictures since we've been staying with Roy and Brenda. But we've been here about two months on the farm and it has been fun to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Wyatt. Kyson LOVES the farm, the cows, the four wheelers, playing in the mud, etc. He also LOVES his Grandma and Grandpa. We are so grateful to Roy and Brenda for their generosity and for letting us stay with them for so long!

We celebrated the 4th of July on the 2nd, since I had to work the 4th. We had yummy shishkabobs on the grill and then did some fireworks in the backyard. Kyson wasn't sure about the loud and bright fireworks...he kept his distance. Clark was our pyro and firework coordinator. We had a fun time!

Clark also finished the deck that has been unfinished for almost 3 years now. Stay tuned for pictures of our new apartment and my silhouette crafting adventures!

A visit to the farm

A couple weeks ago my Dad and brothers were at scout camp and so my Mom and little sisters were home alone. They decided to come up and stay a couple days with us. We went looking at apartments for us, swam at Dirkies Lake, rode the four wheelers, played Bocce Ball, and had a great time.

As they were leaving they both informed me that they wanted to live on a farm. Lauren (my youngest sister) told me that Roy and Brenda's house was her "dream house!" They were a little concerned though when Clark told them that the greenish/brownish stuff that had splashed on them while riding in the field was cow manure. And they saw first hand why a cow pie is called a cow pie.

Kyson's First was a Flop

Kyson turned one two months ago. I spent all day making homemade pie crust and banana cream pie. We opened some of his present in the morning and he had a blast. By the time Clark got home from school to celebrate with us, Kyson was tired. We had homemade chicken nuggets and homemade french fries and strawberries...some of Kyson's favorites. We skyped with both our parents and then we put him in the bumbo to dive into the banana cream pie. He was so tired, that he stuck his finger in it...said "ugm" and pushed it away and started crying. So....Kyson went to bed early on his birthday with no pie! I didn't even get one picture of him on his birthday. I did get some videos of opening presents, but they are all too big to upload. So...I am a lame mom. Maybe his 2nd birthday will be more successful!

Some things I want to remember about Kyson being one:

He started walking on his birthday.

He sleeps through the night, most of the time

Takes a two-hour nap in the morning, a two-hour nap in the afternoon, and sleeps ten hours a night. It's quite blissful!

He is hardly even onry, and is usually a cheerful, smiley boy

He loves being outside and playing.

If you give him a tissue, he will walk around the house "blowing his nose"

Somehow seems to know when I leave the bathroom door open, and is unrolling the toilet paper faster than I even knew possible.

I love Kyson to death. I can't imagine life without him and he brightens every day for me. I feel so blessed to be his mom, and hope that I can do what I need to do to help him grow and learn the things he needs to.
