2 Weeks

I am recording this story down so I remember it someday. I was feeding Kyson when all of a sudden I felt a warm sensation trickling down the front of me and saw that somehow a stream of urine had escaped his diaper and was all over him and me. "No problem" I thought, "He needs a bath anyways." So, even though Clark was at class, I figured I could handle giving him a bath on my own. I got everything ready and put him in his baby bath in the big bath tub. However, he is one slippery seal in that baby bath. So it was all I could do to keep him upright and clean him with my other hand. I was getting pretty wet from the water because by this time I am practically in the bathtub too. And suddenly the shower curtain falls on us, I use one hand to keep him afloat, and the other one to deflect the shower curtain away from Kyson. It was hysterical. I finished his bath and got him cleaned up, and luckily Clark came home soon and put the shower curtain back up and took Kyson so I could shower. It was one of those moments that I guess every new mom has when she first tries to bath a newborn on her own!

Kyson with his new toy...he doesn't quite know what to think of it yet

Kyson is the cutest little guy! At his two week appointment he was back up to 9 lbs 5 oz and is 22 inches long now. He's growing fast!

I had a friend who took a picture of her baby next to the same toy each month so she could see how much he grew...so I decided to do the same thing.

10 Days Old

Kyson is 10 days old and is a little sweetheart! Some notable things about Kyson right now are the following:

-He has hairy ears. We are hoping this falls off before he goes to kindergarten!
-He has a little clogged tear duct on his right eye that gets goopy and often makes him appear as though he is a pirate with one eye!
-He LOVES it outside and when he gets fussy I just take him out on the porch and he's asleep in seconds

I found these two both asleep in the recliner...Clark tuckered out after his organic chemistry test. I sure love these boys!

He loves his Grandma! We are sad that she is gone, he got spoiled while she was here, the minute he whimpered he had someone holding him! Thanks Mom for all your help!

Kyson Clark Wyatt

May 3, 2010............9 lbs 4 oz...........21 inches long

He's here! We were scheduled to get started Sunday at 5:30 pm, but Kyson decided that he wanted to come on his own Sunday afternoon. We went into the hospital and Kyson was born Monday morning at 5:01 am. Everything went well...and we came home Tuesday night.

Kyson fooled us, we didn't hear him cry once while in the hospital after the initial cry right when he came out. We thought we were getting really lucky! However, Tuesday night he didn't sleep AT ALL and I had a wet tap from my epidural and an INCREDIBLY bad spinal headache. Luckily my mom flew in the next day and her and Clark would bring me Kyson in bed to feed. I went back to the hospital, got a blood patch which helps stop the leak of spinal fluid...and by Thursday I was feeling much better.

Kyson sleeps a little better now...he still enjoys being awake during the night hours...but we're making progress each night! He sure is a cute little guy and we LOVE him to death!

Reality Hits Again

Twice in my life that I can recall reality has hit me over the head like a brick! Both of these times took place at Olive Garden.

The first time was the day after Clark and I got married. We were staying in Salt Lake City for a few days before we flew out to Hawaii for our Honeymoon. We went out to eat and waited on a bench in downtown Salt Lake for our disk to light up so we could go eat delicious salad, bread sticks and pasta. The marriage was over, all the hype and pipe was over and we both had a moment of "what now..." Reality set in that we were married life would be different forever! (Luckily this different has been an incredible kind of different and I've loved every minute of it!)

The second time was tonight. Clark and I were going to costco and he started driving in a different direction and pulled up at the Olive Garden. He said he wanted to take me out since it was our last night with just the two of us. When he said this everything kind of hit me!They are starting me tomorrow night because I'm low on amniotic fluid and they say that our baby is quite big already. So, as we sat there in our car waiting for our disk to light up, I once again thought that my life will change forever after tonight.

Marriage has been a wonderful kind of change, I have no doubt that becoming parents will be wonderful as well. However, marriage was painless, and I must admit...I'm getting terrified for childbirth!

So here's to change and all that comes with it. Come what may and love it!
