So I searched and searched for a cheer-leading outfit and found a lady in my ward who had her high school uniform. So I put on the uniform and got ready for the program. I was slightly embarrassed to go out to my car, so I peeked out the door of my apartment, didn't see anyone, and ran quickly to my car and dove in.
I got the the institute building, went inside, and low and behold, NONE of the other leaders were wearing cheer-leading uniforms. I just starred at them. they said that they all looked for them but couldn't find them or couldn't fit into the ones they found. So there I was, the lone cheerleader. They all thought it was hysterical, the girls loved it, and I felt so lame, I mean, there was a distinct reason that I wasn't a cheerleader in high school, because I don't really like being the center of attention and jumping around. But it turned out okay, the bishopric and I introduced the girls, complete with megaphone and pom-poms.
It turned out really cute and here are some pictures for those of you that are in Young Womens and need a good idea for your next program. We served Nacho's and cheese, popcorn, soft pretzels, and lemonade. We also introduced the girls and gave each a position and told why they were important to our team. Then we had the new beehives that will be coming in with us this year come and run through a banner and introduced our "new recruits." They had a lot of fun.
| Kyson loves this mirror in our bathroom. He always comes here and waves to himself and puts his mouth on it. I've given up trying to keep it clean. |
| Ouch. |
