Good-Bye's

We've had a couple things that we will be saying good-bye to.

#1
No more clinicals for Katie until September!!!!!!!! This is definitely my favorite good-bye. Four more weeks of school...but no more clinic...I am now home 5 days a week with the Ky-guy!!!
Kati and I on the first day of our RN program September 2006...wish I could be going through my grad program with her...She was a dream study buddy.
#2
Good-bye Kyson's DOC Band. No more weekly drives into Dallas, with crazy freeways, expensive gas, etc. No more sweaty head. No more smelly head. No more not being able to kiss my son's face because his helmet is in the way! We're symmetric and ready to roll. We have missed the extra protection though, he's taken a couple hard tumbles since it's been gone.
First Day in the DOC Band
Half way done
Done, and happy about it!

#3
My little brother Levi got his mission call to Tonga, and he leaves June 22nd! I am so proud of him and excited for him. I can't wait to hear the stories he will have to tell. It's just like my sister Becca said, "Levi, I always felt you were a big Tongan man stuck in a little white man's body!"

Me and Levi a long time ago...I love that Becca and Mckay are ninja's in the background!

Mardi Gras Texas Style

Cute pregnant Amber, the master-mind behind the King's Cake

Clark loves these overalls on Kyson, they were hand-me-downs from one of Clark's friends, I told him they looks like they came from the 1930's, and I even tried to put them in a D.I. pile, but Clark found them and now puts them on whenever he dresses Kyson.

Mike and Clark....gaming.

Me...the master-mind behind cutting the cake open and smashing in flat so that the inside would cook!

It tasted better than it looks! I guess the French put a little baby doll in the cake and whoever gets the doll in their slice has to throw the party the next year. We used a frozen grape in our cake, and Mike was the lucky winner. We're already getting excited for the party you will throw Mike!

We Kept the Budget!!!!!!!!

Clark and I have been trying to make a keep a budget since we got married 2 1/2 years ago. We've come close many times, but it seems like we always go just a little over on food, dates, household expenses, just the little stuff. Now that we changed from both of us working down to only one person working, it has been even harder to keep the budget, because our budget is so tight!

Clark had been venting his budget frustration to a guy in the bishopric that he works with after church, and the guy told us about mint.com. We tried it and....it's awesome. It is made by the same people who do turbo tax, and it has revolutionized our budgeting. You put your bank account info in and it automatically sorts all your purchases into categories. So I can get on and it tells me how much I've spent on food, clothes, gas, etc. It also shows you trends from month to month. You tell it how much you want to spend on everything each month, and it will send you alerts if you are only half way through the month and have spent too much so far.

It also has an app for i phones and i pod touches, so when I'm at the store, I can pull out my touch and check how much money I've spent on everything, so I can know if I can buy something or not.  It's quick, it's easy, it's wonderful!

Oh yeah, and the best part...it's free.

Anyways, just thought I'd share this awesome website, maybe it will help someone else out there. It was one of my new years resolutions to keep the budget for 3 months in a row. So now I just have to keep March and April!
